Youth

If you have made your way to this page, welcome! During this unusual time of lockdown and social distancing we are still meeting! We have a range of groups meeting weekly for Young People including our Friday night youth group Chill and our Sunday morning groups Salt and Light.

For more information on these groups please contact our Youth Pastor, Ben at the bottom of the page.

Over the coming weeks we will be updating this page to bring you engaging, fun and faithful resources, such as quizzes, articles, worship videos and videos from the Youth team at Union Baptist Church.

This week we are continuing with our testimony series! This week Associate Pastor, Andrew Wingfield shares from times in his life where he has seeked God guidance and where he has prayed that God would help himself and his family with decisions. Check it out below!

We realise that a lot of people at the moment will be feeling fearful, anxious and confused in these strange and unsettling days, but we want to reassure you that we are still here for you to offer support, friendship, community and prayer.

Join us again for this weeks groups!

This week all of the groups that ran last week on Zoom will be happening again!

Please contact Ben at the bottom of the page.

More information about these groups will be released via email this week so please do get in touch at the bottom of the page.

Our Youth Pastor, Ben, is also contactable via email and Whatsapp, so if you need guidance, support or prayer, then please do get in touch.

Please find the link at the bottom of the page that you will need to go through to get in touch.

In Andrew's testimony, he speaks a lot about the decisions and plans that he and his family had to make. At this time, a lot of us will be in similar situations. That might be to do with school, college, univeristy or work. Know though that God knows your path and the plans for you. When you pray, pray with the confidence that God has your future safe in His hands.

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

Weekly Challange

two weeks ago Ben set the 9th weekly challenge - The freeze-frame Challenge!

The winner has been chosen. With an awesome, creative and impressive freeze-frame, the winner is.........

Ben with this awesome freeze-frame of a wheely on his bike!

This week Ben (Youth Pastor) challenges you to the 10th weekly challenge - The head wear module challenge!

This challenege is a little bit different and allows you to drag in other people to help.

Your task is to creative the most fun, creative and interesting head wear. it might be a hat, a bandana or something else that you might wear. This is the best bit though. You then have to find someone in your household or family to module that head wear for you. It might be a sibling, a parent, a grandparent, even a pet if you want! Whoever it is they must be wearing the head wear you have created and must be happy with their picture going on the website if you win!

Over the next two weeks each young person who wants to give this ago can submit 2 attempts to the Youth WhatsApp group chat and the person with the most success in the challange (judged by Ben) has their story or video uploaded to this webpage and recieves their own certificate online next week.

This challenge has been extended another week.

Mega Challenge

Over the last few months we have continued to challange the Young People in various ways and have been amazed by the outcome, so in addition to those challenges, we have decided to add a mega challenge to the mix.

The idea is that all Young People, students, and young adults can enter this contest which is designed to take a decent amount of time to complete.

We are offering a huge reward for this challenge as well. As you may have seen over the past few months, Ben's hair has grown rather long and Ben has been encouraged several times by the Young People to shave it, so, the prize which will be awareded to the winner of the mega challenge will be to shave Ben's head (Once lockdown and social distancing messures allow). Ben is going to continue to grow his hair during this time and will film his head being shaved by the winner at a later date!

So, what is the challenge you ask? well everyone who can enter has until 1st September 2020 to complete the most intracite, most complex, creative and technicle Marble run (if you dont own or have any marbles, any round object will do).

To demonstrate what is being looked for, check out the video below.

The winner will be chosen by a select pannel of people, including Ben's wife, Grace.

Dont miss out on this opportunity!
